Freddie didn't die? Or was he reincarnated?

OT but around a week before it was announced that Freddie was dead, I was told (by someone who claimed to know someone who knew someone, etc) that he had died and it was being kept quiet due to stigma of HIV. I never really gave the claim any credit until a week later when his death was all over the papers. I never did find out if he passed away that long before it was announced but he certainly hadn't been seen for some time.

I think it was a bit of a shock when he did come out as having AIDS, just 2 days before he died. Over here in the US he didn't get quite the press I sure he did over there. I doubt he died weeks before the official date. We also can't really look at how he handled it through 2018 eyes. Plus we all know that off the stage, he was an extremely private person. He was rather unique in quite a few ways. Keeping a private life private is something I can appreciate. I doubt it had to do with any stigma, just Freddie wanting to be private.

Not pointing any of this at you Robert, just thinking out loud.

-Edit-
I sadly have not seen the new movie yet. I guess at this point I'll watch it when it streams. One complaint I've heard is that the movie is not gritty enough, it doesn't dish enough dirt. I say good that it doesn't. Freddie was an extremely private person in life, that should be respected in death. The public should see what Freddie would have wanted to be seen, in a movie made with official involvement of the band.
