free will - real or not?

Freewill isn't free. Even our conscious thinking decision making isn't free. It is constrained by physical processes, our past and noise. The brain is a machine and just because the outputs are impossible to predict with complete accuracy it doesn't mean that they aren't fundamentally deterministic (even though there is no possible way to determine them). However, free will feels free so that should be good enough - but it isn't a very useful concept and I don't think it explains anything that couldn't be explained another way.
