A Lake Mary police official later said Zimmerman did not have a gun, officers never found a gun and that Zimmerman himself said he never had a gun on him.
Careful metalman! They get very angry when their fantasy is proven false.
Deputy Police Chief Colin Morgan said officers did not recover a gun, and Bracknell said Shellie Zimmerman later dropped her claim that a gun was involved.
"Domestic violence can't be invoked because she has changed her story and says she didn't see a firearm," Bracknell said.
The dispute "was between him and his wife and her father,'' Morgan said. "There were some allegations that there had been an assault, but we could not confirm any of it.''
That appears correct. What appears to have happened is the guy that just killed another guy with a gun threatened to shoot his father-in-law, as well. Though did not brandish a gun on his father-in-law.A Lake Mary police official later said Zimmerman did not have a gun, officers never found a gun and that Zimmerman himself said he never had a gun on him.

Looks like high emotions from the divorce process....... What appears to have happened is the guy that just killed another guy with a gun threatened to shoot his father-in-law, as well. Though did not brandish a gun on his father-in-law.
from the police report
Officer states (p.10), “Due to the lack of physical evidence, independent witnesses and conflicting statements, no charges will be filed on [GZ] for battery domestic violence. Battery charges against [SZ] and David are not being filed due to the refusal to prosecute waivers signed by both parties.”
Another officer (p.11), “Due to the lack of physical evidence, independent witnesses corroborating testimony at this time, I do not feel that this case warrants Battery charges against [GZ]. There was no claim of assault or battery on [very long redaction, presumably SZ and David], therefore there will be no charges filed at this time against either party.”
So while both officers clearly state that there is NO EVIDENCE to warrant charges against GZ, they both agree that the reason they’re not charging SZ and her father is that GZ declined to pressing charges.
Shelly Zimmerman (Dean) father is named in the police report as David Bryant Dean.
Seems this is the same David Bryant Dean , from 1991:
Investigators said Bloch supplied stolen vehicles and equipment to David Bryant Dean, who used them for his Longwood landscaping business.
Dean, 36, received a year of house arrest and 10 years of probation last week after pleading guilty to dealing in stolen property and five counts of grand theft. (Snip)
Their thefts amounted to between $250,000 and $300,000, but they had a falling out over money, said Assistant Statewide Prosecutor Michael LaFay.
Dean and Bloch began threatening each other and tattling on one another by reporting the thefts to the vehicles’ owners, Lafay said. That helped deputies put finishing touches on an investigation they had been conducting for almost a year, LaFay said.
”They would just get madder and madder at each other,” he said.

Shellie Zimmerman's mother-in-law charged with DUI
it's too bad the the soon to be X mrs zimmerman did enlighten anyone about george's state of mind the night he murdered Martin. Apparently the couple had a fight earlier that day and george was a ticking time bomb when Martin had the misfortune of walking back from the store.
