@Red (mostly) but anyone.
I thought you'd like an update from this neck of the woods. Minnesota, April 2013, it appears to have snowed more in Duluth, MN this month than the entire winter of 2011-2012. This winter MN received so much snow we've moved from 98% of the State in drought to close to 73% of the State in drought. April 26th is predicted to be the first 60 degree day of the year for us. The 2nd latest 60 day ever recorded. Our average first 60 is March 29th. March 3, 2012, was our first 60 degree day last year.
While worldwide temps continued upward, the rate of change slowed in 2000-2010. In asking why one of the leading scientific works answering this question is demonstrating it was due to a larger amount of Sulfur Dioxide. http://www.redorbit.com/news/scienc...ng-sulfur-dioxide-slow-global-warming-030213/
Is Winter 2012-2013 a sign of Global Cooling? I take my typical stand. Global Warming or Cooling is a discussion about trends. It will take us about a decade to understand if this Minnesota winter is the start of a cooling trend in our area or just a blip in the data.
