Congratulations to the USA fitbaw team on reaching a major final by defeating Spain (current world No.1s) and almost turning over Brazil in the final.

I watched their last three games and am very impressed; huge improvement on the team of even five years ago.

I thought team USA did well in the 2006 World Cup as well. I hope this brings new interest to the sport in the US.

If they keep progressing the way they are the USofA could be an outside bet for the World Cup next year.

That tournament is the biggest sporting event on the planet. If winning that extravaganza doesn't get your average American interested in the beautiful game, nothing will.

i've watched a bit of football (the world kind) and I must admit it's an interesting combination of subtly and excitment.

frankly I have always liked baseball over american football. baseball is beautiful when a ball is in play. you may wait a while for it, but it's always worth it
