Nice to see Obama celebrating (day early, but it might have been May 1st in China when it was released in the US) May Day by wrapping his election slogan around a very well known Socialist and Marxist Slogan that has been used since the 1800s. Now is this just another example of gross incompetence shown by the Obama administration, is it a clear message to his supporters and to the conservatives he is about to come out of the closet (politically, for now), or does this video just do it for him?

Why I think that first video answers the second video pretty well, don't you? Especially now that the NDAA is law.

Probably just wants to trick the socialists into voting for him - like the Republicans like to trick the fundies into voting for them.

BTW, Hitler hated commies.

This idea that Obama is a socialist is utterly absurd, but people who really ought to be a little more honest with themselves keep pushing it.

However:

BTW, Hitler hated commies.

- the fact that there are still some people need who that pointed out to them probably helps explain the first point.

Edit:

It really depends, he is a multi facet President. In some respects, like corp welfare/bailout of Wall Street Cronies, he's a Fascist as he spends billions of dollars on companies that fit his agenda and forces them to do what he wants. OTOH, we see his socialistic agenda via Obamacare, which is crafted to destroy the private insurance market with unworkable mandates that will lead to the private health care collapse which will lead to single payer which he said would take ten or so years to achieve. OTOH, on Marxism, we see his contempt for the Constitutional roles that each branch of the government has and pines for the model the Chinese has as their legislative branch rubber stamps what the central committee decides which is best for their one and only political party. I'll leave it up to you to fit which keyhole of Socialism/Marxism/Fascism that feeds his need to use drones to kill the terrorist vs capturing them, learning key intelligence from them, and then putting them in front of a military legal system for a trial. Guess bypassing the legal system with a hellfire solves the ethical and morale problem of him making a choice of federal or military court system, be the terrorist be American or international. NDAA not withstanding.

If there ever was a comment that demonstrates how counter-productive and utterly unhelpful such labels are, it's this one.

and perfectly demonstrates how ineffective the American educational system is.

Not really, Fascism is another leaf, as is Marxism/Communism, on the tree of Socialism. It's all about a strong centralized command system injecting itself into the daily lives of the peasants that have no choice but to work to feed it.

True, the vast majority of the educational system admin and teachers are typically Progressives. If you want to talk about their failures, lets start a different thread. Ah yes, more government workers making more then twice what the average tax payer is making, that's always a good thread.

Not really,

Yes, really.
Your next comment only reinforces my point:

Fascism is another leaf, as is Marxism/Communism, on the tree of Socialism.

You can make that argument.
You can also make the argument that fascism is another leaf on the tree of capitalism.
And that's part of my point; people fling labels about and increasingly decide it means whatever they want it to mean.

This need to stick a derogatory label on everything you don't agree with makes genuine discussion more difficult.

Oh, FFS........... what's the weather like in your world?

I can't help it if you don't understand (or refuse to accept) communism/marxism and fascism are all leaves of the socialist tree, just on opposite sides of the tree of socialism.

The problem here is the government failed to follow the Capitalists drive to gut the American middle class.

Take some time to fully explain this (not a link - a logical argument from your own head please).

Actually, I think I could probably give a quasi-logical argument (not one that holds much water but nonetheless.... :D) for it but I agree, it would perhaps be interesting to read Dammy's.

No, capitalism picked up and left after drowning in taxation (highest in the industrialized world) and regulations which was created by those same bureaucrats who are earning more then the average tax payer. With the exodus of capital, jobs went away to the more economic friendly countries. Without those jobs, it's mighty hard to expand the middle class.

Silly me I thought you meant recently. Yes jobs left in droves in the 200x years! Those 8 years, along with the last 30, are going to take some serious time to get the nation back on track.
