The Federal Government marks the Flu Season from Sept 1 to Sept 1. It doesn't follow a calendar year. This means the button has been reset for counting deaths a few weeks ago.

So far in the first 3 weeks of the '2010' flu season we've seen 78 deaths nationwide linked directly to H1N1. In addition, about 360 deaths from pneumonia's and similar illnesses. Now H1N1 wasn't at work in all of these but at many are thought to have had H1N1 as a related cause.

One more month before the vaccine makes it's debut. October will be an interesting month. Hopefully H5N1 doesn't provide us with any surprises, last thing we need is a double whammy! Hmmm... Did i just date myself?
