so im waiting for garlic to dry, and i find out my son is back in the field... i'm guessing he's got him a fine MRE to dine on so i thought i'd be a kind dad (you know, the kind you wanna call a butthead) and send him some wonderful pics of the pies being made. put a c on one of them so he'd know it's his.

if anyone wants the recipe i'll take a minute and write it out... simple ingredients, very simple instructions... takes about 5 minutes to get it ready and, (depending on elevation) 35 to 55 mins.

No apology needed, I'm fat enough already ;)

in all honesty i love to cook for people... the moment that food meets mouth, and the person is pleased or surprised (which if im cooking most are) is so gratifying to me anymore i could cook all day and eat none of it just to see that expression on someones face...

That's how I feel when I have time to make my own pasta for the family :)

i actually have an old school pasta machine that came with a motor... sometimes i make all the kids one gallon jars of noodles each... im working on a large scale dryer that im building out of an old tanning bed and a fan... (noodles don't need heat to dry)... when its done it should hold 75 to 100 lbs at a time... i have a metal brake so it is all being lined with thin stainless sheet to make it easy to clean... i have most of the parts... thermostat and such to engage fan... yadayada... i'll send pics when its done but thatll be closer to soup season which means winterish....

Look forward to seeing it, I have an old foldup clothes line that I use :thumbs up:

the lady that makes custom noodles for all of the grocery stores in about five counties, uses a bed in the guest room and a sheet she flops every hour to turn them, has four fans blowing on them... :D... do you make the butter noodles too?

No, just classic Italian pasta, usually Fettuccine or Linguine, I've also been know to make up my own Ravioli too :D

i'd like to build another shed on my place and line it with mylar and run a drain out the center of floor where i could have state approved kitchen, easy to clean like a dairy barn, and then i'd make all kinds of goodies... coffee candy, gummy worms, beef jerky... canned salsa... sauces... just whatever... this stuff is way to good to keep to myself... next year i will be planting a garden twice the size of this years, and i wont be able to keep it all... the feller im helping gave me another 22 qt pressure canner that was brand new, unused and still in unopened box....
