How to help Africa

...by not helping them!

Stop Aid to Africa Now

Aid programs are generally structured to help influential people in the country that is giving the aid, usually through corruption and kick-backs, sometimes through destabilization of any democratic governments that accidentally get elected or just by misdirecting the local resources or incentivizing inappropriate behaviours. Food aid often puts local farmers out of business. Capital projects are usually funded to employ western contractor to build things that the locals can't use. A lot of the aid routes are simultaneously used to smuggle weapons and to funnel supplies to warlords. A lot of these places would be beter off if we would stop "helping" them, but many of them need "help" because they occupy strategic bits of land, and sometimes with valuable resources underneath.
