This reminds me of when a friend of mine received the UK lottery scam email. He'd been told he'd won a bunch of money so he emailed back to see what it was about. They'd sent him a reply saying that they'd need two thousand pounds to process the paperwork.

At that point he realized what the scam was and decided to just drop it but I figured that since he'd already replied he'd probably be getting badgered from now on with "reminders" so I suggested that he reply and tell them that the fees would be unnecessary as he would rather have his own legal team in London (which conducts all his UK business) do the work and could he have the address and phone number of their office so that he could have them start right away.

Very soon after that he received a breathless email saying sorry and it was all a terrible mistake and that he wasn't the winner, sorry for the inconvenience.
