That's pretty much exactly how it is. This and the continuing repression of protests in Bahrain and .. even Israel was having big anti-government street protests last year. All completely unimportant, it seems. The only reason Occupy Wall Street got covered was because it couldn't not be - because they were covering themselves already and couldn't leave it to them to tell people about themselves - need to control the narrative. Yet when a similar number of people start something in an "enemy" state we get coverage. If it turns violent we get more coverage and talk about how it shows the will of the oppressed. If we get violence (from the crowd) in our own protests it just proves what a bunch of ignorant yahoos they are and we should all be ashamed. But I'm not saying anything that I think you don't already fully appreciate - still, needed to type it for my own sake.
