Not from any of the major players either. Razor, a peripheral maker as far as I can tell, came up with a nifty idea for a laptop: Exchange the typical touchpad with an LCD multi-touch.

Razer bucks trends with $2,800 gaming laptop, complete with innovative UI

So the company gave the finger to market research, focus groups, and arguably common sense to create a gaming laptop that's amazingly thin and light, with some very idiosyncratic design decisions. Some people are going to love it, other people will turn their noses up at it, but we're all going to be talking about it.
Can't say I love the price tag, but overall, it's damn sexy!

Yeah, Razor sits squarely in the gamer enthusiast market. They make some damn nice equipment, but it IS pricy. (Think $80-150 mouse and $200+ reconfigurable keyboard market) So the price tag on that laptop isn't surprising. It's a neat idea to incorporate the multi-touch screen in instead of a normal touchpad, though.

The one thing I'm kinda curious about is if it comes in a left-hand and right hand configuration. Or does the touchpad and keyboard pop-off and allow for user re-arrangement? If so, then that would be truly innovative.

I like the additional screen. But for the price I'd expect a top of the line card, perhaps AMD6990M. Not the 555M included.
