ISIS has an airforce

And now the US is providing air cover for ISIS (which they also did in Libya but that’s the past). The US got very pissy when the Russians tried to convene an Emergency Security Council meeting to discuss the incident and the supposed cease fire. As a result of the US airstrike ISIS was able to follow up and take the territory. The Syrian army has been able to recapture much of what they lost. The US is saying it was an "accident" but the Russians (probably with good reason) feel it was something else.
Either the US are fighting for ISIS or the world's most sophisticated armed forces is dumb as a sack of hammers.

The trouble is, their track record for bombing the 'wrong side' is so bad that it's difficult to tell.

Well, it should probably be an and/or there, right? It's not the first time we've helped ISIS, and certainly not the first time we've harmed friendlies.

I guess we won't know if it was an accident or an "accident."
