It's suffering from the same problem as the US and other third world economies - the wealth all belongs to one class and there are too many poor. That's the sort of society that ends up revolting. The demographics are getting bad. The internal threat is likely more dangerous than that from Iran.

Israel has many problems. I'm not an expert on the nation, but I'd guess that being a pariah in the region closes the doors to all sorts of trade and economic ventures that one would expect a nation to have with their neighbors. And Netanyahu is only gonna make things worse.

That's not so much the issue. Israel has lots of money, just like the US. In fact it gets a lot from the US and it's got a lot from Germany and Switzerland too. It has a thriving hi-tech industry and arms industry and it doesn't really want economic relations with its neighbours, partly because the neighbours aren't real economic powerhouses anyway and partly because they'd rather have bombed out civil war ridden neighbours that are no competition for it. Israel is not a middle eastern country - it's very much a western/european one in terms of it's relations and the origin of its population.

No the problem that Israel has is the same one that the US has - they aren't poor countries, it's just that a few people have almost all the wealth. That is the kind of dynamic that rules places like Zimbabwe.. The more unequal the country becomes the more repressive it must be to control its population.
