About a month ago, the dams finally burst as commentators gave voice to the concern building for some time among everyday Americans: Did we elect a president who just doesn't have what it takes to lead?

Obama, whose soaring oratory is precisely what won him the presidency, particularly in the face of a thin résumé.

"Miss Me Yet?"

That clown fiddled while the men his father called "the crazies" dismantled the United States of America. I was surprised anyone want to run for president after him since all his disasters were certain to fall on the head of whoever took over the office.

Barak Hussein Obama said:
Change is building an economy that rewards not just wealth, but the work and workers who created it. It's understanding that the struggles facing working families can't be solved by spending billions of dollars on more tax breaks for big corporations and wealthy CEOs, but by giving the middle-class a tax break, and investing in our crumbling infrastructure, and transforming how we use energy, and improving our schools, and renewing our commitment to science and innovation. It's understanding that fiscal responsibility and shared prosperity can go hand-in-hand.

The journey will be difficult. The road will be long. I face this challenge with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations. But I also face it with limitless faith in the capacity of the American people. Because if we are willing to work for it, and fight for it, and believe in it, then I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on earth. This was the moment—this was the time—when we came together to remake this great nation so that it may always reflect our very best selves and our highest ideals.

There is nothing "The One" can't do. Smartest person in the world, the "lightworker"

winning the future?

When Obama meets his economic advisers for policy meetings, do they stuff a towel at the bottom of the door?

I don't wish to pretend for a second that Barack Obama is some sort of genius, or "teh best evar persidint". Despite the fact that I don't think we're doing the right things or heading in the right direction, my only reservation is that NO ONE has proven to me that there is, or could be a better way of doing things to get us out of the Dubya Debacle that we used to call a thriving economy.

I do agree with the simplistic idea that it all starts with getting Americans back to work building things that other countries buy, instead of the current (and opposite trend) where we make nothing, employ no one, and buy everything from third-world sweatshops because Walmart makes it all so cheap and tempting.

How we get from point A to B, I don't know.

I wonder how Obama's faith in the people is now. Generally the people are feckless lazy TV believing cowards, it seems. Or maybe he's glad they are. Still not sure whether he caved on all his promises because that was his plan all along or because all the people that had seemed to want those changes just went home after election day as if they had done all they needed to do.
