It's apparently ok to slander about other countries during elections

"Euthanised involuntarily"?

Who is this guy?

Interesting, the bracelet thing has been talked about since 2004: http://www.lifenews.com/2004/11/30/bio-584/
Do you seriously want to discuss political matters of a country you don't even know where it is located, let alone trying to understand the language? Some guts you have to come with some totally made up nonsense which you cannot even back up with 1st hand sources because you can't even be bothered to learn and understand that language.:finger:

All I referred to is that the bracelets have been talked about since 04 and documented the date. You are inferring anything beyond that.

Speel,
You post a link to start a conversation, but get mad when someone responds? Whyzzat?

I'm sure in your country there are plenty of people who don't speak English, but have an opinion on the USA.

So who is the ignorant muppet in the video?

I didn't want to discuss Dutch politics in the first place. I don't expect you people to know what's going on here. I want to point out how wrong this man is using this kind of arguments, arguments that cannot be checked by the avarage US voter. Plus they're not only harmful to the Netherlands, but ALSO the USA (slandering a long term ally isn't the best PR, also regarding other countries). I'd say, watch your step regarding mud slinging.

You will find out that most adult people here in NL can understand English perfectly well, especially when they're a politician.
Besides, this is kind-of the reason I don't join political debates that much here, as I do not follow US politics that much.

@Speel

What you have to understand is that for many far right Christians in the US, your country is a daily reminder of their failed goals regarding things like teenage pregnancy rates, of the average age of kids first having sex etc. Santorum is very much of this mindset.

Your country is proof that liberalism works and they cannot stand it. So like any good Christian fundamentalist, when out of rational arguments, he resorts to lying for Jesus.

In an oblique way, its a compliment to your countrymen that he has had to resort to this kind of rhetoric. :D

So who is the ignorant muppet in the video?
and he says WAY worse shit than this. sucktorum is a giant moron.
leander hit the nail on the head. this rightwing dickhead can't stand that people actually can live good lives without being slaves to his dumb ass religion.

Santorum is so Christian it appears 'Bearing False Witness' is a sin that's no longer applicable to him.

So it isn't true? Per Dammy's link and a little Googling, there seems to be at least some truth to it.

Gotta love politics of personal destruction that you Progressives say you hate. Say, isn't Santorum Catholic?

Yet the US has gone hard Progressive way of life and that has done what for teenage pregnancy rates and abortion? So if we are looking at failure to get this under control, hasn't Progressive ideology failed? Or one could say Progressive movement is winning because it's teaching the children the lack of self control and self responsibility that leads to dependence on the government for their daily lives?

I thought his country just went though to make it awfully hard for citizens of the middle east to immirgrate to his country?

Some parts may or may not have taken a more liberal view of sex ed and tried to make the whole idea of sex less of an evil thing never to be talked about, but that is hardly true universally. Conservative states consistently have higher rates for both.

So if we are looking at failure to get this under control, hasn't Progressive ideology failed?

You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means. The Netherlands has by far the lowest rates of both in Europe and continental America. Their policies of demystifying and normalising sex by providing comprehensive sex education and support work. The facts speak for themselves. The USA has nothing like what the Dutch run.

Or one could say Progressive movement is winning because it's teaching the children the lack of self control and self responsibility that leads to dependence on the government for their daily lives?

Funny, lack of self control doesn't seem to be a Dutch issue as far as these two items go. By the same token, Red states increasingly are turning to the church to drive their social policies, how is that any different? I mean apart from the outcome, of course.

I thought his country just went though to make it awfully hard for citizens of the middle east to immirgrate to his country?

Most European states have clamped down on immigration from outside the EU, for the simple fact that our infrastructures simply can't cope with the influx. It is not something specifically targeted at mooosleeeems.
