It's OK if Obama does it

Shh Fluffy, Obama is black so if you point things like this out you are obviously racist.

Just thought it's interesting coming from a guy who was too liberal for the main stream media.

Don't you remember? he won the Nobel Peace Prize, so its OK

Also his extraordinary actions have saved us from the 2012 Mayan Apocalypse,
so he may win the Nobel Prize again this year ...

The constant terrorism of the drone war is meant to defeat Al Qaeda,or make sure that there is a constant supply of people with a grudge against the US? It's hard to be a war profiteer if the war is ever won.

Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, so its OK

Its better they be 'sploded to a million pieces than subjected to the inhumane treatment of Gitmo

and there is always a constant supply of people with a grudge against the US anyway

For me the real problem is Pakistan. The Pakistan government seems to be playing both sides of the fence here. They arrest al-Qaeda members when they venture too far South, but those who stay North enough appear to be off limits. The Pakistani army is either incapable or just unwilling to go after them. The US drone strikes, for the most part, are operating in this lawless area.

No one wants to see innocent people killed, irregardless of where they are. But let's not forget that the people targeted make their living targeting innocent people - and they don't just target Americans. Killing these killers isn't just good for the US but for many people in the region itself. And it seems there are plenty of locals who support the US drone strikes as they seem to be feeding them a constant stream of intelligence that the drone attacks depend on.

It's kinda funny actually. The terrorists rely on local support to stay hidden, and yet, the CIA relies on local informants to kill them. And now we see that bad weather is no longer on the terrorist side either. Must suck to be them.

Yes, but why?

Oh! Wait, I know this one:

Do I get a cookie? ;)

And some of those loveable locals are just using very expensive US military equipment to settle scores and/or extort their neighbours and/or just collect rewards. This is a constant problem that the US has been having to deal with in many of its theatres and is why so many non-terrorists were rounded up in Afghanistan and Iraq. I wouldn't doubt that some Al Qaeda leaning types aren't feeding the locations of "militants" in such a way as to make sure innocents are getting killed. Lot's of agendas down on the ground. If bringing law to the area was the objective, this doesn't do it.

Only thing we know for sure is that when someone launches a hellfire, someone else has to write a $70,000 cheque for a new one.

Exactly. And drone attacks are not the solution to those plenty of reasons.
Why does there need to be a solution?

Which hockey/football/soccer/curling/dodgeball/ ... team do you hate?

Well, the big question for me is, are the drone attacks effective? It seems the jurry is still out, I find some articles that say it is and others that say it isn't. But little research has been done and no one is likely to have all the facts. Still, there have been some attempts:

Yes, Sometimes Drones Are Actually Effective

The basic gist is that drone attacks can be effective so long as they are not the only strategy. Or in other words, you still need guys on the ground to mop up after the drones have done their work. This means that Northern Pakistan is not likely to be devoid of terrorists purely by drone attacks. And I think that's about right, I've always said we're not gonna win the war against the terrorists with bullets and bombs. However, that's not to say bullets and bombs have no role to play either. Still, Northern Pakistan presents a significant problem and we know that doing absolutely nothing is not likely to make the terrorists go away. Like I said before, the US is not really the prime concern for al-Qaeda, but that doesn't mean they don't pose a threat to the US and other Western civilians. In otherwords, the US could completely change it's foreign policy to satisfy al-Qaeda and it's sympathizers (completely cut support for Saudi Arabia, Israel, Jordan, etc), but al-Qaeda would still be around and killing people. I see the drone strikes as keeping al-Qaeda on the run and reducing their operational capabilities. I would much prefer to see Pakistan do the mop up that's needed, but I'm not sure what's required for them to do so. It's a mess.

Do you like your government?
"anti-Americanism" is a hostility to the policies, politics, culture, society, free market economics, and any international role hat the United States has participated in its entire history, a systematic opposition – analogous to you having an allergic reaction to the mere mention of any event in US history that then causes you to then shout "Imperialism!, CIA conspiracy! ". You seem to be of the Norm Chomsky strain of secret history pseudo-intellectual type of anti-Americanism, and the Communist anti-Americanism , anti free market, private property, limited government, and individualism, rather than the French style of hostility of American culture stereotyped as the ugly American.

In that case, judging by this post, you seem like an idiot. Granted you can spell and form sentences but you seem to be unable to grasp nuance and are in the grip of a rabid nationalism, without fully understanding what kind of a nation it is you inhabit.
