"South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford released another statement today, this time blaming her husband’s affair on the declining moral values in America.

“Of course I’m not saying that Mark is gay,” Sanford said, “but he may as well be. The moral decay in this country has claimed another victim and this time it was my family. Our marriage was perfect until these laws started passing around the country.
"
...

Rush Limbaugh, conservative radio personality. “America, I’ve been warning you for years that gay marriage would destroy the American family and look… there they are, a husband, wife, and four children — destroyed. When is will the liberals be satisfied? When all the marriages break up? This wasn’t Mark Sanford’s fault, this was Ted Kennedy’s fault. Sanford didn’t cheapen the value of marriage, he was victimized by the cheapening of marriage.”

...

Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern said she is on a morality mission, blaming the country's economic crisis on the nation's immoral actions such as 'abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery.'

A bigger threat than terrorism.
...

Scapegoating at it's best. The more it appears that the politics is not gays pushing their agenda instead it's Republicans pushing the intolerence agenda.

Huh? This just has to be fabricated...

isn't that 'wandering eye' governor one of the HYPOCRITEs that was pointing fingers at clinton??

I just love those morons. frankly I don't give a rats ass if he fucks some bimbo, as long as he doesn't use taxpayer money for it. and if he just shuts up about it. no one needs to hear all the gory details or listen to his wife bitch about it.

I just don't care.

just do your job and shut up.

and I don't want to hear people whine about 'gay' marriage, either. get over it.

a self-hating gay??

could be

we KNOW he's a drug user. and a hypocrite to boot!

Honestly, I have to agree here. And quite frankly, the only thing that really concerns me no one has mentioned. How, exactly, is a person in his position of power and knowledge allowed to just travel off to Argentina without the proper authorities and intelligence agencies knowing his whereabouts?

yeah, that is creepy. I was talking about this with a friend (retired cop) this weekend, he had the same question. Everyone has a right to privacy, but being out of touch for about 4 days is unacceptable. He was NOT thinking about his voters. not at all.

Well, not thinking about the voters, for sure, but also not thinking about national security or national relations, either. Now, Argentina is fairly stable, and has good relations with the US, but there are still the possibilities for kidnapping, blackmail, or other incident. What would it do to the US on an international level to have a state governor in that position?

Privacy is one thing... You don't have to tell your family, friends, or even co-workers where you're going... But you're still required to inform your security officer... I'm pretty sure as a state governor, he's had to sign papers to that effect, too.

Out of touch with reality too, with her 'perfectionism'. Bloody fascism that 'perfect marriage' ideology is I tell you. Cheap and pretentious. And vile apparently too.
T-Bone was right, it's best we get rid of the whole principle of marriage completely, and replace it with a different (named) law of bonding.
