If rationing is acceptable, though, scapegoating is not. And too much evidence points to the elderly being the scapegoats in the battle to save the NHS. As the Telegraph reports today, elderly patients are being denied the best cancer care. The figures are alarming: lack of treatment is contributing to 14,000 deaths a year among the over-75s. Men and women are dying prematurely each year because their diseases are diagnosed later and less likely to be operated on.

I note the article makes reference to nurses claims that they're too busy. The problem is, at least in some hospitals, nurses are being let go and replaced by care assistants who aren't medically trained and beyond errand running, not much use on a ward. In some cases, there is only one nurse to 30 patients, but over a half dozen care assistants (who btw wear a similar uniform and often don't mention that they're not nurses).

To read on, try this.

Given the cuts to the NHS, it's unsurprising that services are suffering.

That sort of thing goes on in the USA also. For example, we have a choice of a Healthcare Plan that includes or excludes the Mayo Clinic. Mayo Clinic is one of the leading hospitals for various conditions in the USA.

Dammy - It'd be interesting for you to check out your own healthcare. Would you be able to attend the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota or Arizona? Or say the often ranked #1 cancer center MD Anderson in Texas. Most Healthcare plans do have limitations of out-of-network care which may make such an endeavor so expensive that your choice would be sell your home and all belongings in order to work with your desired hospital. Some plans even go so far to provide no out of network coverage.

No such thing as a free lunch, or health care.
And sooner or later liberals/progressives/socialists find it out. That's when class warfare begins. You have more xyz than I do, therefore it's your fault, that I am suffering. It doesn't seem to matter what the xyz is to a liberal. If they are suffering from lack of xyz, then all should suffer. It's only fair.

Then when everyone is suffering from lack of xyz, blame everyone except the liberals.
There is pie in the sky and xyz is just around the corner, if you will only vote for me.

Liberals do realize there's an implicit contract in America. Goto the ER and receive free healthcare. These costs are then passed onto the hospital, doctors, insurance companies, and thereby eaten by all citizens. One of the various things the new healthcare rules do is ensure everyone pays something to healthcare. Think of it as turning the implicit contract into an explicit one.

Funny how Republicans tell us Healthcare is undesired Big Government then demand undesired Big Government to regulate the womb.
