A high school senior, who faces a Monday morning deadline to apologize to Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback for a disparaging tweet, has said she will not write the apology letter.

Sullivan claimed that the principal "told me he needed to do damage control and was really upset."

..............................

"He said I was an embarrassment to the school and the school district and that I had been disrespectful," she added.
PC bullshite.

and brownstain deserves every insult he gets

It is really stupid. I saw an article today that he has backed off. Shame it took internet exposure for him to back off. Freedom of speech is pretty clear in this case.

She should demand an apology. (He will surely blame his staff, but no-one will be punished).

However, it is still troubling that state funds are used to monitor social media websites to determine if anyone is mocking the governor. It has an eerie Big Brother feel, not to mention that it's a waste of tax payer dollars.
no kidding.....but in Kansas this is the state where a school district wanted to force it's children to have an inferior education. ie, force that creationalism crap instead of teaching them reality.

what college could take seriously a "diploma" from such a school? All those children would end up with unemployment or crappy jobs. What parent does that to their kids??

The entire State should be embarrassed

Brownback did announce this afternoon: "My staff over-reacted to this tweet, and for that I apologize."

Well, that's about what I figured. Is the staffer gone? Shouldn't think so because the staffer is obviously a loyal supporter and willing to go that extra (illegal) mile - and that makes them an asset.

I suppose that the government could have a legitimate reason for trolling social media but it would end at taking the pulse of the public in a statistical and anonymized way. Actually going after people for what they say is quite alarmingly brown shirted. He says his staff over-reacted. I wander what he would consider an appropriate reaction.
