Kaspersky looks at cool new Android trojan

Obad is tricky, gives itself Device Admin privilege and hides. It lets a remote user run console commands and it can send SMS messages to premium numbers. Also tries to spread via bluetooth. However, there's not much of this in the wild at the moment.

It's not in the wild so much because you'd still have to install it yourself (not in the App store, so you'd have to side load it) or someone you know installed it and you have your devices paired via bluetooth AND have your bluetooth always on. Aside from that, it is one of the more complex Android malwares out there.

Indeed. Interesting but not a great threat as it stands.
