Man Killed by Wood Chipper

A man died Thursday after getting caught in a wood chipper.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Department is investigating how the man got caught in the machine. At this time they say it appears to be an accident.

The man was helping remove tree branches and debris from a house along Indian Shack Road, in a rural area outside Nevada City. He was using a large wood chipper and handling very large pieces of wood.

It appears he may have gotten stuck in some rope while feeding something into the chipper, and it pulled him in.

The man’s name has not been released to the media at this time.

Happened in southern Palm Beach County about 20 years ago, the man's entire body went into it. The PD had to go buy garbage bags to put the remains in. Couple of months ago, a Australian (think he was from India) got his head caught in a machine (some sort of shredder). Industrial accidents do happen.

Penn Dutch Food Center here in Hollywood Florida about a decade ago, a worker died in a meat grinder accident. His hand got caught in it and it grinded him all the way up his arm. Horrible, horrible stuff. I didn't buy hamburger from there for years not wanting soilent green.
