Mexican military fires on US Border patrol INSIDE America!

Any of you bleeding heart liberals still believe we're not at war?
What the hell are you talking about. The US has been at war constantly since at least WWII (and they didn't spend much time not at war since it's founding).

Perhaps I should specify "at war WITH MEXICO" then?

Why on earth would the US be in war with Mexico? With all their trading agreements?

It's more like : why would Mexico chose now to start fighting back?
A good question, already asked and answered by Mexican forces traveling into American territory then firing on Americans inside our border. Other stories (searching now) point out dozens of other incidents in the last few years and refer to them as "rogue factions of the Mexican military...".

Can I ask Lee to dig up the Nuke out of the quarry now? I think I actually have a good use for it. :)

We are being invaded

By law, unaccompanied children caught crossing illegally from countries other than Mexico are treated differently from other migrants. After being apprehended by the Border Patrol, they must be turned over within 72 hours to a refugee resettlement office that is part of the Health Department. Health officials must try to find relatives or other adults in the United States who can care for them while their immigration cases move through the courts, a search that can take several weeks or more.

I do find it rather funny how some Americans are freaking out over this. The US has mistakenly bombed civilians and issued similar apologies. I could say Americans now know how it feels, except that's really not the case because this incident is still no where near the same level of destruction and death.

There. I liked your post. Now they can yell "Anti-American" at the both of us! :)canada_gs_e0.gif

(BTW, Happy Canada Day tomorrow)

In light of this thread, I thought that this was interesting.
It says:
A U.S. appeals court has ruled in favor of the family of a Mexican 15-year-old shot dead by a U.S. Border Patrol agent. According to the family’s complaint, Sergio Adrian Hernandez Guereca was playing with his friends on the Mexican side of the border when an agent detained one of the friends, causing Hernandez to retreat beneath a bridge. The agent, Jesus Mesa, then fired across the border into Mexico, hitting Hernandez in the face and killing him. The Obama administration argued that the U.S. Constitution did not protect Hernandez, because the teen was outside the United States. But in what was reportedly the first ruling of its kind, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed, allowing the family to move forward with their lawsuit against the agent. The ruling could impact at least some of the six other cases where U.S. agents have killed Mexican citizens by shooting across the border.

Still trying to decide if this thread is a parody....

So why are so many illegal immigrant children being spirited into the US from the border? Perhaps it is to assuage America's guilt. They are poor, they are hungry, they are sick and they are running from ... US exploitation.

Read what the US has "supported" in Honduras. And by supported, I mean done because no coup against a populist leader in South America could succeed without US support. Read this, and then read this.

And after you have read those maybe you can start to understand what is going on in Venezuela and what is going on in Ukraine. If you don't want so many refugees flooding into the country you can try to close of the entire border ... or you can stop creating refugees. You need to understand the problem before you can fix it.

I'd prefer it if you unliked my post as it only makes me look crazy like you. If we agree on something it only makes me wonder if I'm wrong.

By the way, Mike. How do you think it really works? Do you think we live in a magical time when all the powers of history have suddenly decided to suspend themselves leaving only goodness and pixie dust sprinkled upon the weary but grateful world? Do you think that just because you don't play Monopoly or Risk with the world then you are safe from those who do? Do you disbelieve in psychopaths who rape and murder babies for their own kicks just because you wouldn't want it to be true? Are all our leaders (unlike those other people's leaders) just and benevolent. Do we really only bomb people to help them and our bombs magically only kill the guilty and spare the innocent?
Harper's a good guy and he cares about YOU, Mike. He's ordained by God as chosen leader as evidenced by the fact he was elected by our completely free and uncorrupted open political system in which just absolutely anyone can put themselves on the ballot and have a fair chance at getting elected. Thank goodness for our fair and balanced press which is not owned by corporations whose interests, even if they were owned by corporation, would be just the same as yours.
Mike, rulers rule and they always have and they rule by the methods they've always used and sometimes in history the majority of the people realise that and fight against it, but for most of history they buy into the stories the rulers tell about "God's will" or "the natural order" or "it's better than what they've got" and the good old standby "the wolves are at the door".
And empires run as empires always have, as businesses and on debt - and if you try to get out of the deal, if you don't pay enough tribute to the imperium, if you try to liberate your people from the yoke and your assets from the emperor then finally there is the military.
There are people in the world who believe that evolution has stopped, that we now, today, are the pinnacle and goal of evolution, that there can be no more evolution because we are special and now is a new paradigm. Those people are idiots, of course. Then again, there are those who think that history has stopped.

Nah, evolution doesn't stop and we're not the final result of billions of years of it. But I can argue that the human race is devolving because evolution requires death remove the weak genes and we've taken that out of the equation to a great extent. However, we're likely to correct that with genetic engineering once we get past all the social taboos it entails. At which point evolution will kick into high gear to the point where we might have a whole new species. And if you want upsetting, try this: the new species will likely kill off the old.

And no I don't disbelieve things because I don't like them or find them upsetting. It's just that when I see something I don't like or find upsetting I don't immediately find a way to blame the same old same olds. I think we tend to agree on what is evil, we just don't both always blame the US for it. I understand how empires work, but unlike you, I understand there's more than one empire. It's you who seems to live in an overly simplified universe. And please stop pretending you're so much smarter than everyone, it's a major turn off.

I understand how empires work, but unlike you, I understand there's more than one empire.
And the one with the most power is doing the most stuff. Anyone want to hazard a guess who has the worlds most powerful empire at the moment?

By the way, I think you should worry less about how often I agree with you and more about how often you agree with Harper.
