Wreckless it is, yes, but that's just the US. Why else would you need 2 jobs to get a decent living?

These Miami-Dade cops aren't hurting for cash. They do these "police details" for easy extra cash. It is all gravy to them.

Do cops usually lose their job for traffic offences?

Typically they have to report ALL traffic infractions to their supervisor. Reckless driving is a misdemeanor in the State of Florida which is a criminal offense. That would probably warrant a report issued to FL Dept of Law Enforcement for review of the officer's law enforcement certification. FDLE has some really strict policies on officer's behavior and could suspend or revoke their certification.

Many people, like the US Government it's self, are living far beyond their means even if they are making a good sum of money.

It's a question of getting those off duty details and holding on to them. I remember officers and supervisors use to travel from Jupiter down to Miami for DEA warehouse detail. But I've gone over how badly state LEOs are paid already.

Many people, like the US Government it's self, are living far beyond their means ...

People, perhaps, but governments? Governments invent the currency and can simply reinvent it at another time. Money is not the bounds of means for governments. Only physical reality should constrain governments. Real resources matter, not the money used to divide them up.

Once again, a labor union showing out of touch with reality it is.
Labour Unions are supposed to represent their members. It's actually kind of the point. It would be like the US government complaining to the Saudis if the Saudis were trying to stone some American to death for drinking beer. If the beer drinker broke the law then he should face the punishment, right? Or should the US government stick up for the reprobate? Same concept.
