Minnesota's ultra-right-wing is embodied by Michelle Bachmann. A name we know well from the Presidential Primaries. She was one of the 3 candidates who claimed God told them to run for President. (It appears God was wrong as all 3 pulled out.) Out of that event MB has some of the largest coiffers in the US for her campaign. However, all that money appears to not be helping her as much as one might think.
Bachmann's in danger People knows who she is. Her campaign is hard pressed to change people's minds. While seriously outspending her opposition it's still not enough to overcome her own image.
