Michelle Bachmann pulls out of race

@ faethor You fail to understand that following God's wishes does not mean success. Life is a journey and many doors are open and closed, each has or had something to teach the person about life and themselves while possibly turning the wheel of fate for someone else.

Being Bachmann, Cain and Perry all claimed divine inspiration for running and all have slammed doors in their faces the lesson I take away is Sky Daddy's likes to make me LMAO!

God wants politics
God wants a good laugh
What God wants God gets, God help us all

Millions of Republicans are now Googling Santorum -- LMFAO, thank you Sky Daddy!

Making fun of people's (christian) religious beliefs is like making fun of their sexual preference, poor taste.

Making fun of people's religious beliefs is like making fun of people's political beliefs or geographical beliefs or astrological beliefs or Star Trek beliefs.
Making fun of people's sexual preferences is like making fun of the number of legs they have or their physical attributes.

The first is a mental world model that you adopt but can change whereas the latter are things you can't do so very much about. You're religion isn't equivalent to you, it's just an opinion you have about the universe.

@Red
To recap your argument = religion is a sacred cow.

In case you didn’t stay up late last night to catch the results, genetically engineered Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, also known as the Mittbot 9000, won the Iowa caucuses by 8 votes — 8 VOTES! — over staunch birth control and sodomy opponent Rick Santorum, with crusty libertarian Ron Paul coming in a close third.
But all of this — the actual election results — was overshadowed by other, more hilarious things, namely Ron Paul’s taunting of Jon Huntsman on Twitter, and Michele Bachmann mentioning in her concession speech that her probably gay husband Marcus had spent the previous day shopping for doggy sunglasses while she was out campaigning.

That's just being mean.

But seriously I'm with Fluffy. Sexuality is an innate characteristic, like the color of one's skin. Which Sky Daddy to accept and reject appears to be based moreso on cultural norms, such as choice of political party is.

I'd say that stance is murky at best. There are plenty of studies that show certain people are biologically more drawn to religious beliefs than others. How do you separate that from certain people being more biologically attracted to certain sexes than others?

The 'God Gene' is a postulate not a proven. The author rushed to his own book instead of scientific journals which doesn't make him wrong but does make him highly suspect. 1 unpublished, unduplicated study does not have sufficent backing to establish the God Gene as a proven theory. Let's assume it's true for sake of argument. The way the Gene works is to encourages a spirituality not a selection of religion. The Gene may improve your chances of believing in something spiritual but not in any particular diety. The predominate factor for flavor of diety comes from the society where the individual is born and raised and traditions. And should the 'God Gene' exists it doesn't eliminate the rational elements in a person nor does it prove any particular diety exists.

One could argue the same things when talking about homosexuality as genetic vs. choice. No one has proven a "homo gene" and I think it would be rather insulting to consider it could possibly be that easy. In both cases, there appears to be a very complex combination of biology, upbringing, and rational free will. I just don't see how you can claim one is free to choose the god they're attracted to, but not person they're attracted to. Catch my drift?
