An extremely poor choice of words, but the idea of using the media to steer people isn't in of itself a particularly bad one. Especially given that it's being aimed at gun crime. It wasn't so long ago that people were complaining about all the glorification of gangsta culture. Perhaps this could be used to counteract some of the effect of such programming...
Will it work? Well it worked with cigarettes as was pointed out. Will it work with guns? Maybe.

No doubt the term 'brainwash' is a bad phrasing. Most people think of brainwashing as getting rid of good thoughts and inserting bad one's. Such as cults may use. Overall the presentation was good.
IF we as a society want a less violent society then we should be promoting the society we want. The 'Land of the Free' has one of the highest violent crime rates in the first world. If we don't want to continue in this direction then we should be using diverse tools to improve out nation. Clearly prision isn't having a deterrent effect.
