Can the Libertarians, the Tea Baggers and old fashioned Conservatives find some agreement with this? Just to let you know, this was a speech given at the Socialism 2012 conference.

Surely all groups can find some common ground somewhere to fight for, no?

Dubya's warrantless wiretap amendment has been extended with solid support in the House The bill was sponsored by Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) - a name that seems tied in my memory to several displays of toadying to the security state.

According to Wired:
The vote was 301-118 in favor of passage, with 111 Democrats and seven Republicans voting no.
Or, to put it the correct way round: 74 Democrats and 227 Republicans voted against individual rights and freedoms and for the the right of the state to spy on it's citizens.

Here are their names.

The Senate version of the bill is currently stalled.
