Nissan LEAF and Renault TV advertisement

I find it strange that two different car companies are showing similar TV advertisement. Did one on them plagiarized a little?

I admit Nissan LEAF TV advertisement did show the Chevy Volt. I know “There’s an old advertising rule of thumb that leaders must never mention competitors in their advertising, whereas followers can benefit through linking themselves to leaders in their advertising.” It looks like this LEAF ad acknowledges the Volt as the leader.

I have discover, there is total three car companies are showing similar TV advertisement. This one is one year older then the first two that I had shown a while back. Looks like Nissan and Renault were both heavily "inspired" by a commercial for i-Miev.
