NY seeks to intervene in BoA $8.5 bln pact

Aug 4 (Reuters) - New York's attorney general is seeking to intervene as an "adverse party" in Bank of America Corp's (BAC.N) $8.5 billion settlement over losses in mortgage-backed securities.
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman filed a motion late Thursday evening seeking to intervene in order to "protect the marketplace and the interests of New York investors, the vast majority of whom otherwise are not present before the Court in this proceeding."

I wonder if this is for real? If true, good for him for having balls to stand up for the obvious. Eric Schneiderman may want to hire body guards...

very small clip, If this true, It may not be for the investors, but for the State of New York.

Not even just investors, that isn't my primary concern. BofA criminal actions have severely damaged the US economy. Banks can't be allowed to make hundreds of billions in profits through outright fraud, get bailed out on the backs of US tax payers, and only get a nominal fine with no criminal prosecution.

If it was China someone would have been shot by now.
