I like how they make a big deal out of the fact that Marx said it and ignore the fact that what was quoted is true and uncontroversial. This just illustrates that it is a programmed fear of stereotypical boogie men instead of rational thought that spurs the armies of the right wing.

But it was quoted and attributed to Marx, big difference. You can spin it all you want, but you can't hide the fact Karl Marx was specifically quoted intentionally.
I suspect that it was probably attributed to Marx because he said it. That's just a guess though. But it was quoted and attributed to Marx, big difference.
You could think of it as him sending a scary message specifically to those like you who are astute enough to detect the commies under every bed - maybe because he thinks it funny to watch you piss yourself and shriek like a little girl - or... wait, perhaps he was quoting an economist who was describing an inarguable conflict in the relations between labour and capital. You can spin it all you want, but you can't hide the fact Karl Marx was specifically quoted intentionally.
so, let me get this right:
some guy (not Obama, just Some guy) quotes Marx to explain an idea Within a public discussion about, oh, IDEAS.
and suddenly this makes him a pinko, commie??
ok, I'll go find a copy of Mein Kampf , quote a sentence and I'll bet some asshole here will call me a fascist.
wow, that's reaching
actually.... half the people here would discuss mein kampf with you on its merits, and it would be most stimulating, the other half i'm afraid would prolly wanna "gift" you an autographed copy from their personal collection of white power literature....
