"aimed at restoring Americans' faith in the nation's public institutions" not at fixing the problem.
Believe it when you see people going to jail.

Seems that nothing can make you happy McDeath. How does it feel to be the only person in the world to be 100% correct, 100% of the time.

Sadly, I agree with Fluffy here. We had insider trading laws on the books and somehow no one went to jail. We know who the crooks were in the financial crash of 2008 and yet no one went to jail except a few tiny sacrificial lambs. None of the big players hung, they got jobs in the Obama Whitehouse.

When I have time I will read the bill myself. At first blush I'd expect nothing more than political theatre.

For the both of you.

Let me put it this way; Is it better for him to have done something, rather than nothing?

Taking the book by its cover, yes.

I do hope there is teeth behind this. You just have to understand my pessimism at this point. Let's see if Timothy Geithner is arrested tomorrow.

Something is better than nothing - I agree. The question is whether it is something or whether it is smoke. I want it to be something but to pass the bill a majority of politicians had to vote for it and a majority of politicians had something to lose if the bill had teeth so I am skeptical. One advantage to being a total cynic is that it is good when it turns out you were wrong :) - we'll have to wait and see.
