Obama won the atheist vote

Hardly surprising, given the two main choices.
 
1/100th of the population can think for themselves then. I believe Gary Johnson got about 1% of the popular vote.

well, it's really including people who may be religious/spiritual but not affiliated with a church (or whatever) as well as atheists (like myself) who have yet to see any proof for the existence of ANY god.

But aside from that...it's regular people who HATE ANY and ALL politicians who want to interject their religion onto the public. That is so UN American and UN-pleasant that it has forced voters out of their homes to vote against the wacko religious right candidates.

That's why Obama got not only the majority of the Electoral College but the popular vote. Lots of reasonable people hate being told what to feel and what to think.

Obama also got a good chunk of women voters. Most women like being Free. They like being able to choose their own careers, make their own money, decide where they will go and when. Once you have a taste of Freedom you are loath to give it up.

The only thing I am amazed at with the result of this election is that the voters REALLY did make a concerted effort to get out there and vote. And I guess we can thank the wacko-doodle nuts from faux news and morons like santorium who were brilliant at turning many reasonable people off.

67% of single women voted for Obama, only took a few bucks worth of contraceptives and they dropped their panties and voted for Obama. If women can't get married, their only choice is to marry the government.

Unfortunately, I think you're estimating high. That would mean one out of 100 people you talk to has the capability of truly independent thought. In general, I don't see it.

I think that was Metalman. The article has 'you're' and he had typed 'your' in his post. It looks like Metalman fixed his post.

That means that statistically, no one on this forum is capable of independent thought. And if there is, at most it would be just one of us. Probably Wayne, who's independent enough to do other things. ;)

I've never taken money from the government. not unemployment, not welfare, not anything.
