A funny nugget in an article blasting Obama and Rahm Emanuel.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 95158.html

The friction was laid bare in August when Mr. Emanuel showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides. Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama's health-care overhaul.

"F—ing retarded," Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants.

How is this a surprise Red? Rahm is known for this kind of "behavior". He and the President think they can run the country like Chicago (aka the "Machine").

I love the sudden issuing of apologies by Rahm. What a double standard (IMO). Had a Republican said something like this and it leaked to the public, there would have been no calm until the guy had resigned.... :whack:

You think?
a) it wouldn't leak.
b) if the guy was important it wouldn't stick.

But placing attack ads against your own party really is F-ing retarded! The article paints him as pragmatic, not ideological. That's not necessarily bad, although it may worry Republicans as it may make it harder to oust the Democrats when the time comes.

Stuff like this takes the focus off the real problems. We have someone accidentally saying retarded. In actuallity he used one of the definitions of retarded. It doesn't only apply to people with Downs no matter what Palin says.

The real focus should be on real problems. Like the Healthcare system which is purposefully excusionary and charges us twice as much to be so.

Here's what's stoopid!!

Rahm was willing to negotiate away the public option which is the only part of the bill that has broad public support. Single payer has perpetually polled well in the US with majority support among the middle class and it's the first thing to go to make the health industry happy. Rahm is there to undermine the base and keep the money coming in.

I can see why you may think that, but it might just not be that stooopid:

The Case for Watered-Down Legislation

To those who argue that piecemeal health care reform is worse than no health care reform, I have five words: the 1957 Civil Rights Act.

Many of you are no doubt scratching your heads ("There was a 1957 Civil Rights Act?"), and for good reason. This is one of the most thoroughly forgotten pieces of social legislation in U.S. history, in part because it was watered down to nearly nothing—or so it seemed.

But had the bill not been watered down, it would not have passed the Senate. (As is, it passed with 60 votes, which by Senate rules today would be seen as a squeaker.) And if it hadn't passed, the civil rights movements and the more monumental laws of the next few years may have come about much more slowly.

I'm an advocate for public health care, but I just can't see it happening in the US without a slow transition period.

I can't see the wedges that are left in it. I'm left thinking that maybe it's just supposed to be so onerous and ill crafted that it will inspire a popular revolt to overthrow the status quo but that seems like a terrible way to do things. It also looks bad on the guys that passed it and getting kicked out is not the best way to make change.

So, Rahm calls a bunch of Democrats retarded and Palin demands an apology.
Rush calls a bunch of Democrats retards and Palin defends him.

This woman is so dumb she could become the next leader of the Republican Party.

I probably could (and should) resist posting this .. but screw it

Sarah Palin named her kid "retard"
