Woman defends herself against two armed attackers. This article is somewhat vague in details so let me add:

1. Woman had received a permit to carry concealed (kept in purse).
2. Went through training for use / self defense.
3. When robbers attacked, she was willing to give money they wanted.
4. When told to take her clothes off, she realized the incident would become violent and defended herself.
5. Thugs had her purse but never opened it to find the money (it was there) or the pistol. When she offerred to give the money in the purse, they returned the purse for her to give it to them.

Great story and good for the lady.

1. If they looked in the purse them selves it would have had a very different ending
2. I've seen similar stories involving female kick boxers who physically beet up their assailants.
3. This is anecdotal evidence.

If you want to show that the 2nd amendment works, then there should be a link between lax gun control and a decreased level of crime. The mere fact that these criminals assumed she was unarmed and treated her that way tells me that not enough people take advantage of their right to bare concealed weapons which means it's not likely to be much of a deterrent (certainly wasn't in this case). It also has one major flaw: anyone with a criminal record can not have a concealed weapon which means they are more vulnerable then others. This is hardly fair and I would think to be unconstitutional as even convicted criminals should have the same expectation of safety as everyone else. Unless the right to bare arms has nothing to do with personal safety, but to admit that could have constitutional implications for the 2nd amendment itself.

Mike, I agree with your post completely but I couldn't help a giggle at this bit:

I spent this weekend camping at a festival. fortunately there was no poison ivy but I did have bare arms for most of the time and am now sunburnt. :-)
