A cold Arctic summer has led to a record increase in the ice cap, leading experts to predict a period of global cooling.

Major climate research centres now accept that there has been a “pause” in global warming since 1997.

There has been a 60 per cent increase in the amount of ocean covered with ice compared to this time last year, they equivalent of almost a million square miles.
In a rebound from 2012's record low an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia's northern shores, days before the annual re-freeze is even set to begin.

The Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific has remained blocked by pack-ice all year, forcing some ships to change their routes.

A leaked report to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) seen by the Mail on Sunday, has led some scientists to claim that the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of this century.

If correct, it would contradict computer forecasts of imminent catastrophic warming. The news comes several years after the BBC predicted that the arctic would be ice-free by 2013.

Fortunately I don't feel sorry for those sheep suckered by fake science. I will continue to rub it in with glee.

Our kids just won't know what snow is. <--- Wrong
Global warming is killing polar bears <--- Wrong
Global warming will kill us with hurricanes <---Wrong
Arctic will be ice-free by 2013 <---Wrong

After the heat we recently had hanging around I'll take cooling. Today I woke to 63, which was great! It appears the longer colder spring shifted everything off for us about a month. So Aug was normally what we'd have in July, for example. (Yeah not a meteorologist and that's just seat of the pants reaction no real data to back itup.)

Please go see a doctor.

im a paper away from being a dr. myself. and i'm at that point where i see drs. almost weekly... nobody needs two lettered quacks in their day... but thanks for your faux concern for my health and well being... you seem to be upset, and ridiculously so, i might add, that not every media outlet shares your point of view, spoonfed you; by the networks and outlets you do watch. oh the mainstream media is ignoring the plight of the white man being victimized by the minority(your network sure aint and it seems to be "mainstream" among your ilk), oh the mainstream media is the one that believes in bunk science, not rush limbaugh who is sponsored by the pollutants... oooh those evil environmentalist want us to have clean air and water... woo hooo its a grand conspiracy i tell ya... lol... just lol... but yeah red... sure... i'm a drunken, high, klansman... you're the sane one:rolleyes: ... just lol!!!

fake science? :lol: reds gonna be all over you for making "observations" and assigning "value" to that "known reality"... heh heh

Yeah will this more fake science is saying that we'll beat the record 95 high for today. Not fun being nearly 100 and very humid. It reminds me of visiting Florida.

@faethor
Better you than me! It was actually cooler than averaged down here this summer. The spring was HOT, and then in just tapered off quickly. It is currently 86F, but with a breeze it isn't brutal.

@Red,
I'm all up for going South to a cool down.
