On the BBC tonight it was reported that Palin and Co are decrying the results as being some form of Democrat smear campaign....

Kind of harks back to a question I asked when she was picked. Why would you choose someone with multiple active investigations against them to be your running mate?

Is it for the sympathy vote? I think McCain got completely gamed by this pychopath. She sold him a line of BS (certainly one of her talents) wrinkled her nose and winked at him and BINGO - she's the running mate and now maybe the GOP machine will have to help her out with the investigations (which they have done to an energetic extent).

Going back to one of your other posts you talked about the elites that run the party. Sticking with this theory I bet that in order for McCain to keep the Christian Taliban in the Republican party happy he had to agree to a Fundie as his running mate.
