Getting back to the topic.... :)

Palin -- Is she a Grandma or not? Seemingly flighing 8 months pregnant against FAA regulations is not a great idea. Especially when the baby knowingly has Downs. Then when her water breaks in Texas flies back to Alaska to have the baby. Seemingly they didn't bring out the easiest evidence, a birth certificate, instead when questioned if it were her daughters she throws her 17 year old pregnant daughter to the press. The paternal instinct isn't strong in this one. IMO it wouldn't be as big an issue if the Republicans haven't tried to capture the 'family values' party title. With McCain voting 19 times against biological education and instead calling for abstinence only his own VP is a case in point on why that approach is a failure. Of course McCain has his own family values issues with marrying his mistress.

Palin ran a town of ~6500 w/ a budget of $12M. During this time it appears she cozied up to the Alaskan Gov. Ted Stevens, who is under inditement. And was for the bridge to no where before she was against it.

Currently Palin is under investigation herself for the illegal firing the Commissioner who refused to fire her soon to be ex-brother-in-law during his divorce from her sister.

Her husband works for big oil, BP.

Inexperienced? Clearly she's one of the most inexperienced choices McCain could make.

If McCain's party is bringing change to Washington is this really the change we want?

I do believe she's the Mom. The trouble I have is why in an already troubled pregnancy state - downs, did she break FCC law and fly. Also, what stupid doctor told her to basically go against the AMA and FCC? And those are based admissions from her office on the timeline of the birth. I suppose one could argue I shouldn't believe Palin's own rumors..

Even more evidence that Palin will fit right in.

She won the race and in her first year remodeled her office, Carney said. As he recalls, she broke the law by spending $55,000 of road maintenance funds, without the council's permission.
"When I braced her about that, her response, and I will never forget it, is 'I'm the mayor and I can do anything I want until the courts say I can't,'"

Now that's White House material right there.

Reports are Palin has a crew of stylists and a hair dresser that travels with her. Imagine that price for a haircut? Makes the $300 Edwards haircut seem like a deal.

Ooh but the Republicans were so upset over the outrageous spending of Edwards... But, unsurprising mum when their candidates spend even more.

It's called an Election....

McCain does "look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

Pontius Pilatee was a "Praefectus " (magistrate) , Matthew was a Democrat before turning from his sins as a tax collector, and Barabbas was an "Alinsky community organizer"

WTF metalman gone off the deep end?

RE Palin: Jesus was a community organizer. Pontius Pilatee and Herod had actual responsibilities.

Funny sarcastic McCain poster btw.

I think it's pretty normal at this point in the campaign that a few apperance people (hair, makeup, clothes) travel with the candidates. Though perhaps not McCain has had some bad cake make up on a few TV appearances. We have seen things such as Cindy McCain in a $300K dress calling Obama an elitist.

$300k dress? Got a source? How the hell can a dress cost $300k? That would be ridonkulous!

Is McCain scary?

Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.
Really do to healthcare what we did to banking? Privatize profits and pass the loss to the government? Do we really need more borrow and spend and more broken systems for our citizens?
