I suspect there will be more clashes like this as these religious minorities finally step out from under decades of repression.

It was however promising to see:

The committee also said the government would institute a law imposing jail time and a fine on anyone found guilty of discriminating against others based on religion, language, gender or ethnicity.

If they can get that onto the statute books and enforce it, then they would have something to be truly proud of.

They're not stepping out from centuries of repression, their being repressed more.

That statute will only be enforced in one direction, to repress minorities

Reading the article it seems there is some support for the copts amongst the muslim majority. Whilst there have been major clashes since the revolution that's not entirely surprising given the power vacuum it created. As things settle down again I would expect things to calm down once again between the various groups.

They certainly are not being shut down as they were under Mubarak did at the state level.

Time will tell. Ultimately it'll be down to how the countries power is balanced out amongst the various groups.
 
There were clashes before the revolution, just not as well publicized. These are not new tensions caused by the revolution.
