prius plug in!

Junk, it is not even an electric car. You will still need gas when you driven approximately 13 miles on battery power at speeds up to 60 mph then back to plain old vanilla Prius. Prius plug-in better the same price as a Prius without the plug.
The Plug-in will be initially offered in 14 West and East Coast states (Arizona, California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Virginia and New Hampshire). Any other state will be out 2013. If you are not in this state than you have to wait till 2013.
I would not touch this car. I would go for the leaf than the Pirus. I believe Chevy Volt is the right move and still waiting for another EV car that similar to Chevy Volt.

Don't forget the upcoming Ford Focus All-Electric and Ford C-Max All-Electric and plug-in hybrid.

We're still a few years out from VW's hybrids. They should make a small diesel hybrid, though I bet they don't.

news flash: 99% of my driving is all under 50 mph

i know LOL
but then I would be exceeding the speed limit

I still wish they'd spend more on hydrogen car research. Electric just seems like a bad idea. We need better battery tech before we can be realistic about an electric car.

Hydrogen is a battery not a fuel.

There you go with the JUNK remark again CE. 13 miles would be more than enough for my typical daily commute. My question is the price.

I think he means Hydrogen fuel cells. The fuel cell technology STILL is not ready for the scale of a car.

My guess is the same price as a leaf for the plug-in Prius.

In my view about Hydrogen Fool Sell is only good for spaceship and submarine. To make it clear about Hydrogen has a much lower energy density than any other fuel. Hydrogen is worse than batteries. You have to invest much energy to compress and cool it and store it at enormous pressure to even get it close. Hydrogen will cost (much) more energy to use than you get out of it. This is based on fundamental thermodynamics. No technology yet invented has thwarted thermodynamics.

Where would you get that crazy idea? If Toyota was really that stupid, it would be stillborn. It should be not be much more expensive than a normal Prius. If the price is in the ballpark of a normal Prius, I am interested.

Leaf just a big battery pack. Prius plug-in have made a bigger battery pack that give 13 mile driving range plus upgrade to newer type of battery. The Prius have an engine and a motor drivetrain just like the Chevy Volt that the leaf don't have that. I am guessing that it use a different motor than the not plug-in Prius. The high end of Prius V is $36,082 from the dealer. It may be at that price with less options or same options as the high end of Prius V with a higher price tag than $36,082.
