Robocop coming soon? Private corporations are already providing the police in places like Lincolnshire. Personally I am very uncomfortable with the idea. The police are already a problem in the hands of a co-opted government but at least we could in theory get the police back if we got the government back. That doesn't work if the police are someone else's private army.

Even more troubling is the fact that G4S not only operates the police in Lincolnshire (and private police in many places around the planet) but that they also operate private prisons. Anyone see a potential conflict of interest in this "vertical" strategy?

Don't worry Fluffy, the officers are probably unionized. Long as the stream of union dues are going into PAC to support the Progressives, what could possibly go wrong?

Are you even sane? Are progressive neo-liberal robber barons now?

Privatisation of the police is going ahead in a big way. Seems the Tories are determined to marketise everything they can, even when the results of their past attempts to do so have shown in no uncertain terms that not everything fits into a market model <cough> Railtrack <cough>.

As for Dammy's sanity... Fluffy me old, that's a can of worms you just don't want to get into.
