ProLifers should love it. Though I'd bet they'll hate it.

This Nov the government starts discussion what preventive care should come at no cost to citizens. LINK Amongst this is free birth control pills. I expect Pro-Lifers to come out against this even if it will reduce unwanted abortions and reduce unwed pregnancies.

Why would you expect pro-lifers to come out against it?

Because they have attacked sex education, attempted to limit access to birth control pills in chemists and are now in at least one state actively advocating the banning of said pills?

...and I guess anyone who ever recycled a plastic water bottle must also condone bombing newspaper writer's offices?

I've seen pamphlets in church's against the morning after pill and other similar medications. The Catholics really hate it when adults make their own decisions about their own bodies. pisses them off in a big way.

I can only report about catholics because that is who I am more likely to see

other can chime in with the Protestants viewpoints

Ok, I'll chime in with the agnostic viewpoint. I'd rather a little of my tax dollars go to pay for prevention, than pay ungodly amounts of my tax dollars to support welfare children.

No, but it'd be disingenuous to try to deny that there is a large overlap in the demographics involved in the pro-life/anti-birthcontrol/teabagger crowd.

Note, I'm not including you in this Jim. We've talked about this shit far too often over the years for me to see your views as anything other than pretty pragmatic for the most part.

I mean sure we disagree on some of the finer points, but overall we're not that different on this issue. I imagine the same would be true of Cecilia as well if we simply wrote down a list of bullet points on the matter.

I have been championing prevention for as long as I can remember

and in some cases if that includes abortion, so be it.

prevention IS cheaper - plus, why encourage people to give birth when the population is overflowing. I find THAT immoral
