Real Death Panels

Nice to see uptake increasing.

I know someone here who was perhaps the first person in Manitoba to sell electricity back to the network. He lobbied for it and finally got it. He benefits greatly, hardly pays anything for electricity over a year, but can't live without the network either. Solar is useful only when the sun is out, and that works because he uses almost no power during the day because the house is mostly vacant at those hours. The real electricity is used in the evenings and that he needs the network for. Also, the shorter days in the winter don't really allow for much solar collection, but you make up for it in the summer months. So over the year it works out but again, you need the network.

I don't think we can kill the networks, but we need to find ways to have both.
