Does that mean Obama gets a pat on the back for giving the finger to the War Power's Act? Remember the good old days when Vice President Joe Biden was a US Senator who supposedly took the US Constitution to heart?

First job of the new "government" is to invite in "Peace Keepers".

Were you as upset about the constitution being trampled by Bush?

Or was it OK then, since that was your team?

Nah, I doubt it. First thing they'll do is make sure the NATO countries that took part in the mission get a cut of the oil contracts. Peace Keepers will only be called in if Kadhafi's loyalists somehow regain their strength and organize a successful counter revolution. How likely is that? Not sure, but if he's ultimately killed (along with his sons) then there's a good chance people will just decide to give this new government a try. Oil money will also make people more agreeable I would think.

There isn't a real government. The rebels hate each other. They will be fighting amongst themselves for a slice of the pie now (even though the government of Libya is, what, just one guy at the moment, who happens to be "recognized" by the west).

If I were that guy I'd feel the need to call in the Peace Keepers just to save my skin from the other rebels. Remember, Gaddafi had oil money and it did well for him but there will be less oil money now as foreign firms will be taking more of the profit. The whole point is to denationalize the oil profits.

If the guy who is the government calls in the Peace Keepers then it's not an invasion (like how the Afghan government called in the Soviets). Having boots on the ground will also help keep the rebels from getting big headed. NATO did the heavy lifting on this thing and they are going to make sure they get their spoils.

Rebels say - thanks NATO, now go home

Which is precisely why they can't. The Libyan's want to be left alone to rule themselves but that isn't reliable enough for the West as it smacks of a dangerous streak of independence.

Instead the Libyan's are going to get the government that the NATO powers make for them, just as happened in Iraq.

To me it seems like Russia Today says NATO go home. Such a claim is a pretty substantial one, yet no effort whatsoever was made to back that up, not even one image of a rebel denouncing NATO in any way was shown. About as fair and balanced as Fox News.

Lets see here, Bush ask and gain approval from Congress to go in. Oh I know, your confused that I would expect a Democrat president to be subjected to the same laws and regulations as a GOP president. Guess I just can't get my head wrapped around that progressive tyranny thing.
