I think for all of us, especially those Canadians north of here, this is a good review. Certainly our local 'climate' impacts our views of the world. I think we can see why (redrumloa) Floridans here are screaming how bad things are. Why (me) Minnesotans aren't see the problem as huge.
Populations of these areas make a big difference too. For example the 12% unemployment in Florida means they have equivalent head count to what 50% of what Minnesota has for population. When you have 2 million unemployeed poverty and inequality should be much more in one's face.
