Anyone see any logic to this?

Two journalists are reportedly suing President Donald Trump and other U.S. officials, claiming they are on a government ‘kill list.’

According to Politico, the journalists are former Al Jazeera Islamabad bureau chief Ahmad Zaidan and freelance journalist Bilal Kareem.

The two allegedly filed the suit yesterday. It alleges the Obama administration placed them on a ‘kill list’ and President Trump has yet to remove them.

Politico states that the two also claim Trump “loosened some of the safeguards the previous administration placed on the program.”

Kareem claims that since being placed on the list, he has “narrowly avoided being killed by five air strikes” in the past year.

The lawsuit states that both men deny association with Al Qaeda or the Taliban. They claim they were placed on the list as a result of flawed algorithms that flagged their travel, social media posts and communications.

According to The Hill, the lawsuit lists Trump, Defense Secretary James Mattis, CIA Director Mike Pompeo and Attorney General Jeff Sessions as defendants.

Obama himself is not listed as a defendant.

Why would Obama be listed as a defendent? The journalists are not suing for damages, but for their allegedly incorrect classification as enemies of the state to be rectified. Naturally, they are suing the active administration as we have yet to develop technology that allows us to travel back in time so the previous administration could prevent them from ever being added to the referenced "kill list"...

Morever, the linked articles specifically mention that the Trump administration "loosened" certain safeguards, which had been implemented by the previous administration, thereby - allegedly - increasing the risk of getting killed for both journalists.

Sounds all fairly "normal" given the circumstances.
