Retro Computing: Ever seen a Shugart 8" floppy drive?

Even with a hand for scale, you really can't appreciate how big these suckers are without seeing in person.

These drive are from a Xerox 820 Computer I picked up last year. The 8" floppies themselves that came with the computer have failed due to age. No CP/M boot disk, can't use the computer. Getting replacement 8' boot disk is difficult these days. Interfacing these to a modern PC to write an archive back is difficult. That said, I found a good active user group and now have a plan to get this problem solved. I'll have this computer up and running in 2017, probably in the next month or so.

Fun stuff. Wish some of you guys would get back into retro computing as a hobby. It is a lot of fun.

They are massive, I remember helping clear out a warehouse that had some 8" drives about 10 years ago and hauling them to the dump
