FEMA did provide disaster aid for Louisiana and Mississippi, which had significant flooding after Isaac. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal objected that the approved funding was not sufficient. On Friday, FEMA announced that it had approved a disaster declaration for Alabama, which also was hit by Isaac.
It’s the second time since June that FEMA has turned down Scott’s request for aid. After heavy rains caused flooding in the Florida Panhandle in early June, Scott wrote letters to FEMA and Obama requesting federal intervention.
FEMA turned down the request, prompting an appeal from Scott. That, also, was rejected.

Obama is a criminal.

Unlike the last few years, Florida lawmakers will start with a little extra money in the bank when they begin to write the new state budget for 2013-14 early next year.
The latest estimate from state economists projects a $71 million surplus for the coming budget year — a stark contrast to previous years when lawmakers had to resolve budget shortfalls, which at one point approached $3 billion.

so your advocating mooching when you got money in your pockets eh? swell!! we were for mooching before we were against mooching, and then we went back to being okay with some kinds of mooching, but not others... lol... no wonder the republican party is falling apart....

FL voters should kick out that douchebag governor.

Do you know what FEMA is? Obviously not.

well i sure do... and according to them... you guys got enough money to cover the damage... other states did not... and your arrogant clown gov. runs around rejecting job money... money that would have created jobs in your state and helped the american infrastructure because federal government is broke your man says... but now he wants federal money in spite of the fact that ya'll got a pocket full o coin... you can't have it both ways... i'm sorry... its the problem with republicans... you bitch about intrusive over reaching government but you vote for ass clowns who want to regulate peoples sex lives... how do you not see it?

FEMA is the dirty batch of SOB's you've claimed in other threads will be rounding us up and killing us all. and now you want their money. and their big gov boot on your neck... rise up red, by your own bootstraps... you know the libertarian, republican way... quit trying to drag the rest of us down... your state has a surplus red, fix it yourself instead of looking for gov handouts...

Where's that people should do it themselves and not rely on the government love? Here's a perfect opportunity. At the same time it'll save the government spending keeping taxes lower for those not in Florida. Afterall we typically paid the bills on these things even though we don't live there. Raising taxes in Minnesota to transfer to Florida because they made a bad choice on where to live is a prime example of socialism at work. Don't want that.

Sometimes I really wonder why I waste my time here, especially during election cylces:rolleyes:
You, yourself, but a few posts ago claimed to be switching to a libertarian view. Your criticism here was a viewpoint that's 180 degrees from libertarianism. Essentially how unfair it is the Federal Gov isn't bailing out Florida. You are being inconsistent in your claims and desires. Either you want the gov to help out in times of troubles or you don't. You can't have both.

because of the intellectual stimulation of their arguments!

Ridicule is confused as ad hominem by those who argumentum ad ignorantiam
Seems that you are right about that.

One mocks a persons position on issues, the other mocks the person. Both are logical fallacies.

Obama's political persecution continues.

"All of the subject counties experienced storm surge, high surf, and rip tides, which resulted in the scouring of engineered and maintained beaches, with a corresponding large-scale erosion of beach sand," the governor wrote. "These counties are heavily dependent on beaches for tourism and derive much of their local sales tax base through tourism and other beach-related industries."

Fort lauderdale beach is completely gone in areas.

Beach, gone. Sidewalk, gone. Showers, gone. Half of A1A shutdown and almost gone.

Clearly the government screwed up by building the road too close to the ocean. One can see the sand on the road. Had the road not been there no harm would have come of it.

so because Scott is an incompetent boob it's Obama's fault?

Where once there was a beach, now there is none. In response to this we castigate the government for its failure to protect our environment. Yet, had that same government proposed any such measures beforehand, we would have castigated them for cow-towing to the "global warming" nutters.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen; you know it, we know it and, indeed, the whole f*cking world knows it - we are the most hypocritical arseholes the planet has ever seen.
