Romney gets the cameras - Ron Paul gets the crowds

  • Also consider that Colorado elected 36 alternate delegates at the convention. These delegates take the place of delegates that are unable or unwilling to attend the RNC. According to the column, two delegates told Mullen they believe a majority of the alternate delegates that were selected by the convention are pledged to Paul. However, even if most of the delegates are not pledged to support Paul and some are Rick Santorum supporters, many who supported the former Pennsylvania senator, may see it as a waste of time and expense to attend the convention and this will benefit Paul.
  • With the possibility of Paul winning the majority of delegates in states like Colorado, Missouri, and the GOP leadership acknowledging that he may also win the majority of delegates in other states like Iowa, Maine, Washington, Minnesota, it begs the question: Why has the media declared that Romney has a lock on the Republican nomination when a majority of states have not voted with regard to their delegates?
  • Romney could win the popular vote in the upcoming Pennsylvania primary and go on to beat Paul by huge margins in upcoming contests, but this is irrelevant. What matters is who can accumulate the greatest number of delegates. Despite their math, the media is unaware of the actual total delegate counts regarding the Republican candidates. Until several states actually vote, we will not know the official delegate count
