the governor or Wisconsin as well as the members of congress should give up their salaries.

Shouldn't the President do this first as a sign of leadership? Oh, I mean now that he is back from his $50,000 @ week house he rented for two weeks in Martha's Vineyard which he and his family took separate government jets to and from. Perhaps Michele can hold some bake sales to pay back the $10M in government costs for her different vacations this year? Cecilia, you think this really could catch on?

How about the ~$2M taxpayer's money for Obama's birthday party in the Whitehouse? For some reason Obama seems to think since he was elected that our tax dollars are his personal piggy bank:madashell:

Don't worry, Obama has a plan. He will let the future generations who are now in schools and those who haven't been born yet, pay for the bills he is racking up while he parties like a rock star.:drumroll:

How does this compare with previous presidents?

Also, what's the breakdown of that 2 million? I'd be curious as to know how much of it was down to security costs.

Not unlike Bush then.

security is a necessary expense. anyone who lived through the JFK assassination knows how disruptive that can be!
contrary to what cheney would like to believe, killing people doesn't help.

and I Don't want to some idiot killing anyone. in my view, security is worth the expense.
